JOB SUMMARY and KEY OBJECTIVES
Responsible for the site extrusion operation with overall responsibilities for extrusion quality, volume, and other production-related activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS
Have working knowledge of extrusion press mechanics (i.e. press alignment, dummy block rotation cycles, container, stem, etc.)
Working knowledge and understanding of full extrusion process flow from Scheduling through Shipping
Safety policies and procedures
Knowledge of the operating systems
ADP timekeeping system
Assist in the management of plant operations for production, maintenance and quality
Coordinate plant activities as directed by the Plant Manager in a timely and cost-effective manner
Assist in the administration of all plans, and budget
Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. Assist in and oversee performance management processes.
Seek and implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and work flow optimization
Provide insight to managerial talent, assisting in the necessary action to strengthen the team as required; solidifying succession plans, mentoring subordinates and other employees, and improving overall management capabilities
Assist in the overall maintenance program in partnership with the maintenance department in order to maintain production levels
Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
Provides positive encouragement and leadership to production supervisors
Working hours: First Shift (Supporting off shifts as required)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the aluminum extrusion industry and will be able to lead a team successfully; exceeding company set goals and targets while driving continuous improvement. The Extrusion Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and act as second in command. The ideal candidate will be able to drive continuous improvement while ensuring that the new company culture is engrained in the facility, as this company was recently part of an acquisition. PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Knowledge of the aluminum extrusion process (i.e. quench rates, quoting new business, temperature controls, extrusion alloys, temper rates, aging cycles, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in related field or five years management experience in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required
